New Delhi:

Get ready to kick off your excitement because Ajay Devgn's highly anticipated sports drama, Maidaan, has officially scored its release date - Eid 2024. Produced by Boney Kapoor and helmed by Amit Sharma of Badhaai Ho fame, the movie endured a four-year struggle to secure a theatrical release. The news of Maidaan's release date was unveiled by Ajay Devgn himself through a poster, featuring him sporting a grey suit while hugging his football team amidst an emotional moment. They were surrounded by a huge crowd holding Indian flags and cheering for them.

The release date of Maidaan was also mentioned on the poster. Sharing the poster on his Instagram handle, Ajay Devgn wrote, "Witness an extraordinary story of a man, a team, a nation, and the unwavering belief that left an indelible mark on the history of Football #MaidaanTrailerKicksOff7thMarch #MaidaanOnEid #ThisEidApril2024." Maidaan is all set to clash with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan starring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Termed as one of Ajay Devgn's most ambitious projects, Maidaan narrates the inspiring tale of an unsung hero, Syed Abdul Rahim, who made significant contributions to Indian football during his tenure as coach and manager from 1950 until 1963. Despite facing several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Maidaan is finally hitting the big screens. With a screenplay by Saiwyn Quadras and dialogues by Ritesh Shah, the film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh in pivotal roles. Presented by Zee Studios, the production boasts a stellar team of producers including Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta.
