Veteran actress Saira Banu, who has been consistent in doling out stories and anecdotes from her younger days in the film industry, treated her fans on Sunday afternoon to yet another tale from the time when her husband Dilip Kumar and she were filming their 1974 film Sagina. The 78-year-old actress shared some monochrome still from the film alongside an extensive caption which started with her explaining the context of the film and ended with her revealing her favourite scene from it. It obviously featured her late husband, Dilip Kumar.
Saira Banu began her post with, "Sagina is one of my most loved films. It is based on the true story of the labour movement. Sagina, a factory labourer...is an honest, aggressive and loveable character who was the first to fight against the tyranny of the British bosses in the tea gardens of Northern-Eastern India. Sagina becomes a Welfare Officer and brings about justice."
In the later paragraphs, a smitten Saira Banu spoke about the outdoor badminton court that her late husband Dilip Kumar set up as part of the cast and crew's leisurely activity. She continued, "I was so happy when Sahib and revered Tapan Sinha worked together... they were such good friends and like-minded that they brought ease and cordiality while filming "Sagina" in the most relaxed atmosphere at Gayabari where we worked in the outdoors. The first thing that Sahib set up in the garden was a Badminton court for all the team the shooting to play together in the evenings and then cosily huddle in the house to sing and joke together turn by turn."
The Padosan star summed up her post by describing her favourite scene from the movie. She wrote, "Sharing a scene which is my personal favourite... when Sagina who is a robust outgoing man, is sitting in his office bored and suffocated and then he steps out compelled to breathe the fresh air in the lush outdoors. Then he spots the coming of the train and exuberantly matches the speed with the passing train. I think it is one of Sahib's most spellbinding and enthralling performances."

A week back, Saira Banu shared a picture of her from the 1976 film Koi Jeeta Koi Haara and along with it, narrated an intriguing story about her supposed "metamorphosis." Recalling her early days, Saira Banu shared, “This is a vivid memory of my metamorphosis from my first film appearance in “JUNGLEE” to out and out glamorous roles as this one in “Koi Jeeta koi haara”… “Junglee”, was a massively successful hit and the first popular Indian EASTMAN colour film… until now all great colour movies such as “AAN” were processed at London by Technicolour.”

Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar got married in October 1966. The two actors have co-starred in a bunch of films like Sagina, Bairaag, Gopi and Duniya. Dilip Kumar had a glorious career spanning over six decades. He was last seen in the 1998 film Qila.
