New Delhi:

The trailer launch event of Liger, which took place on Thursday, had lots of hilarious moments, thanks to Ranveer Singh. The actor who welcomed the cast of the film - Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday - made the audience laugh. However, the highlight of the event was when Ranveer trolled Vijay for wearing a casual black t-shirt with "The" written on it, cargo pants and slippers for the function. Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, wore a shiny grey jacket with graphic jeans and a stylish pair of sunglasses. Talking about Vijay at the event, Ranveer said, "You are the object of lust," then turning to producer Karan Johar, he added, "That we have found out on your blockbuster talk show ki "The" ki kitni demand hai. Inko kya welcome karna ye toh dilo mein basse hue hain (We have found out on Karan Johar's blockbuster talk show that you're in demand. You don't need any welcoming, you're already in the hearts of the people)." Ranveer referred to a recent episode of Koffee With Karan 7 in which Sara Ali Khan said she wanted to date Vijay.

Trolling Vijay for his casual outfit, Ranveer said, "Bhai ka style dekho, aise lag raha hai, ye mere trailer launch pe aaya hai ya main inke trailer launch pe aaya hu (Look at his style. Does it look like he has come to my trailer launch or I have come to his trailer launch?).”

Comparing him to John Abraham, who ends up attending various events in slippers, Ranveer joked, "John Abraham ke baad agar koi chappal ka swag aur style dikhayega toh "The" Vijay Deverakonda (After John Abraham, if there's anyone who can pull off such style and swag in chappals, it is Vijay)".

While talking about Vijay's "The" t-shirt, Ranveer demanded: "Mujhe yeh t-shirt chahiye (I want this t-shirt)". When Vijay said he will send the t-shirt to him, "100% bhejunga (I will send it for sure)," Ranveer then suggested, "Chal backstage chal (Let's go backstage)". Laughing, Vijay said no. However, later, after the event, they exchanged the t-shirts and arrived on stage to pose for pictures.

During the event, Vijay and Ananya even taught Ranveer the hook step of the song, Akdi Pakdi, the first song release from Liger.

Liger marks Ananya Panday's debut in Telugu cinema. The film also has Ramya Krishnan as Vijay's mother. Vijay plays a kickboxer who has a speech impairment. A cameo appearance by boxing icon Mike Tyson was also a huge hit in the trailer. The film releases August 25.
