'Waltair Veerayya' is going to hit the cinemas on January 13 next year. A grand press meet was held on Tuesday by the makers.

Speaking on the occasion, director Bobby Kolli said, "Since I entered the film industry in 2003, it was my dream to wield the megaphone for a Megastar movie. It was Ravi Teja who helped me realize my dream of becoming a filmmaker with 'Power'. When I first narrated the story of 'Waltair', it was a one-hour narration sans the second half. Chiranjeevi garu felt that a story is lacking. He prodded me to infuse strong emotions. After much brainstorming and thinking, I conceived Ravi Teja's character to further power up the script. When I gave the narration, Chiranjeevi garu immediately greenlit the project. Ravi Teja listened to the script with an open mind. I thank Mythri Movie Makers for giving me a free hand and mounting this film on a vast scale." The director also thanked composer Devi Sri Prasad, cinematographer Arthur Wilson, actors like Rajendra Prasad and others.

Chiranjeevi said, "This movie has been made with lots of love. Nobody can show a hero better than a fan who wields the megaphone. I know that Bobby and his father are hardcore fans of mine. I always knew that Bobby would show me in a never-before-seen manner. I watched 'Waltair' before attending this event. I am sure that this film has nailed it! No matter how big are your expectations, this film is going to meet them. This is not a star-studded film for the sake of it. The casting was done with lots of forethought. The likes of Ravi Teja and Rajendra Prasad have been cast because only they can do full justice to the roles. DSP's excitement levels and participation are the maximum when it comes to me. The action choreography by Ram and Laxman is excellent. They are inspiring stunt masters. Sekhar VJ has choreographed all five songs. Urvasi Rautela has done a fantastic job in the special song. It was wonderful working with her. Shruti Haasan cooperated with us completely. She is glamorous in the 'Sridevi-Chiranjeevi' song."

Chiru said that he would always be excited to do mass masala entertainers like 'Waltair'. "When they come with a strong emotional core, nothing like it. The emotions in it are going to subject you to awe," the 'GodFather' actor said.

"People may be reminded of 'Mutha Mestri', but 'Waltair' is completely different from that. In terms of my performance, it is going to be different. I have spoken the Uttarandhra dialect in the movie," the 'Bhola Shankar' actor added. "In terms of comedy, this is the first time I have done this range of comedy since 'Shankar Dada MBBS'," Chiru said.

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja said that, as a big fan of Chiru, it was exciting to do the film.

Producer Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers said that Chiru wants both his film and Balakrishna's 'Veera Simha Reddy' to click at the box office. "We have no issues with the distribution of the two big movies. Any small issues, if any, will be amicably sorted out," he said.
