EXCLUSIVE: Varun Dhawan’s shoot schedule from March to December – Bhediya, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Sanki and Ekkis

Earlier this week, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon announced their second collaboration, Bhediya, which is a part of Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy universe, already consisting of Stree and Roohi. On the day of announce, i.e. on Sunday, the film went on the floors at Filmcity in Mumbai and according to our sources, the team of this Amar Kaushik directorial will finish a 10-12 day schedule in the maximum city and then air-dash to Arunachal Pradesh for a marathon schedule, where major chunk of thrill and horror unfolds.

“It’s going to be approx. 50-day stint in and around the jungles of Arunachal Pradesh as also the capital, Itanagar. The team will call it a wrap on Bhediya by Summer, and post that, Varun moves on to his unfinished assignment, Jug Jugg Jeeyo directed by Raj Mehta. While the team has completed a lot of the film in it’s first schedule at Chandigarh, they reunite for the final leg of the film around May. It’s going to be around 20-days of work on the social-dramedy and then a wrap,” revealed a source close to the development.

While Bhediya is gearing up for an April 14 release, team Jug Jugg Jeeyo is contemplating on a Valentines Day opening next year. Right after finishing the Karan Johar production, Varun jumps into the mass action space with the Sajid Nadiadwala production, titled Sanki. It’s expected to go on the floors around the month of June, with a three-month schedule on an on and off basis. “Finally, from the month of September or October, he begins work on his ambitious Sriram Raghavan directorial, Ekkis, wherein he plays the 1971 Indo-Pak war hero, Arun Khetarpal, and the film produced by Dinesh Vijan. He has consciously lined up two action films (though in a complete different space) one after another, as he would be undergoing intense training to maintain a certain physique and look that evolves through both the films,” the source added.

Ekkis shoot will go on till year end, or might even be carried forward to the following year, given the fact that the team is planning it on a massive scale. “The film also requires certain landscape and weather conditions, and their schedule too will be dependent on a lot of factors. It’s a tentative plan that Varun has chalked out, and the timelines might change due to contingency of events, but the lineup of films will be the same,” the source signed off.
