Mild Covid-19 scare for 'KGF 2', 'Beast' 'Acharya'?

"Covid cases increase for the third day in a row in Delhi". This is a headline from Friday's edition of a national daily. The data from the first, second and third coronavirus waves proves that Delhi and/or Mumbai is where the cases start increasing first before the numbers become strong enough to be called a wave.

Hindustan Times on Saturday reported that India saw a marginal increase in its daily Covid tally with as many as 1,150 people testing positive in the last 24 hours. "This is for the fourth straight day when the country logged more than 1,000 fresh Covid-19 cases," the report said.

Amidst this, distributors of the pan-India movie 'KGF 2' (April 14th release) must already be having prayers on their lips. If theatres are locked down in Delhi, a crucial market will be lost. The AAP government has been over-reacting to the pandemic.

'Beast' and 'Acharya' are hitting the cinemas on April 13 and April 29, respectiveely. A piece of good news is that 'Beast' and 'KGF 2' are releasing in a matter of 4-5 days. Even if a fourth wave is upon us, it is too short a period for the wave to get intensified.

But then, if you compare the situation that prevailed in March for 'Radhe Shyam' and 'RRR', it is a bit of a headache for the April releases.
