YCP is angry with Chiranjeevi: Here is what he precisely said

On July 27, YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy said in Parliament that a lion's share of the budget of big-star movies involves remunerations paid to the hero. He alleged that Salman Khan earns Rs 200 Cr as remuneration per each movie that he does. The MP opined that the government must include a clause in the Cinematograph Bill-2023 constraining such practices.

Speaking at a recent 'Waltair Veerayya' event, Chiranjeevi found fault with parliamentarians trying to rake up a debate about the remunerations of film stars. He didn't invoke the YCP leader's name, though.

Here is what Chiru said on the occasion:

"Movies create income opportunities for thousands of people. Don't they (politicians) have any job other than to discuss issues like heroes' remunerations in the Rajya Sabha? We make movies to benefit cine workers. Are heroes' remunerations such a big issue troubling the country? Please leave the cinema industry alone. Today, Telugu cinema is reaching international standards only because we are spending big. And it is reasonable to expect optimal returns if the investment is huge. I respectfully urge leaders not to focus on issues that don't matter. The focus should ideally be on alleviating poverty, creating jobs, and building infrastructure. Targeting the film industry is like wielding the 'Brahmastram' on a meek creature," the 'Bholaa Shankar' actor said.
