Sunny Leone is in a happy place and she has every reason to be. The actress has touched a significant milestone in her career, with her film Kennedy – in which she plays the female lead – earning praise from all quarters. The Anurag Kashyap directorial first featured in the Midnights Screening Section of the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Now, the film will also be screened at the Sydney Film Festival and Sunny Leone has travelled to Australia to attend the screening. Much to the delight of her fans, Sunny Leone has been sharing updates from Sydney ahead of the event. On Tuesday, Sunny Leone shared a video of herself in Sydney and said, “Good morning, Sydney. This view - so gorg. Cannot wait to go to the Sydney Film Festival. Kennedy is going to be playing. I am so excited. I cannot wait for you guys to see it. Love you Sydney.”
In the caption, she said, “Landed at 7am in Sydney. Sydney film festival!” and added a bunch of heart emojis.
Sunny Leone also shared a fun video of her standing in front of the theatre that will host the film festival. In the clip, she says, "I am going to be right there tomorrow. Wohhoo." The video also comes with the text: "Can't wait for tomorrow." In the caption, she wrote, "So excited for #Kennedy screening at Sydney Film Festival."
Sunny Leone also shared a video of herself at the airport before flying to Sydney. She wrote, “Tell them Charlie is coming. On my way, Sydney! So excited to be at Sydney Film Festival for the special screening of #Kennedy directed by Anurag Kashyap.”
While at Cannes too, Sunny Leone shared several posts, expressing her gratitude to the director as well as her co-star Rahul Bhat. Sharing an image in which the trio is posing on the red carpet at Cannes, she wrote in the caption, “The proudest moment of my career so far! Thank you, Anurag Kashyap, for this moment! And Rahul Bhat for letting me share the screen with you in this amazing performance! Love you both.”
Kennedy has been receiving generally positive reviews from all quarters. About the film, NDTV's Saibal Chatterjee wrote, “It [Kennedy] seems to skim the surface and refrains from going the whole hog with its political allusions. But Kennedy does give us a central character who intrigues and excites thanks to the power Rahul Bhat lends to it. Sunny Leone's laugh - more a sharp elongated squeal than a pure guffaw/giggle - is the defining trait of the character she plays. Wish there was more to her. But it is definitely good to see the actor being used for something beyond just as a means of titillation. She makes the most of the opportunity.
