Mumbai:

Actress Kiara Advani has been busting Bollywood charts with a hat-trick - her last three films, Shershaah, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Jugjugg Jeeyo, have been hits. Of the three, Shershaah is noteworthy as having released on a streaming platform during the pandemic and Kiara told NDTV that she's thrilled. "We have given our heart and soul to these films, so I am overwhelmed. It's gratifying to see the reception that the audience have given to these films. I couldn't be happier," she said.

All three films released in quick succession and followed the success of Kiara's pre-pandemic releases. "2019 was a good year for me because Kabir Singh and Good Newwz both did very well and both were different from one another. Again in 2022, two films just a month apart got so much love and again different from one another. These two years are special for me and none of this was planned," Kiara Advani said.

While box office profits need no breaking down, the actress explained how exactly a hit film helps. "A hit film gives you a sense of confidence when you go forward to the next film. In terms of pushing the boundaries, when a film is appreciated you feel a sense of motivation and you know that you are on the right path," Kiara said.

Shershaah was made for cinemas but released on OTT because of the pandemic - one of a slate of films that opted to stream. It did very well and both audiences and critics gave it a thumbs up. Kiara Advani told NDTV, "Shershaah was one of the first films to create havoc on OTT. We made it for the big screens but we coudn't put in cinemas. We waited a lot but then went ahead with OTT because at the time cinemas were not running at 100%. The reception it got didn't feel like an OTT release, the love we got was just like what we could have got if it had released in cinemas."

Kiara's next release is Shahshank Khaitan's Govinda Naam Mera with Vicky Kaushal. "Yes, next release should be Govinda Naam Mera and after that should be Shankar Sir's film." Kiara Advani will star opposite Ram Charan in director Shankar's political thriller, which will release in 2023.
