Avantika Malik, Bollywood actor Imran Khan's estranged wife, has treated her social media followers to some special glimpses of her recent holiday. Avantika, whose Instagram bio states that she is the mixologist at a popular Japanese restaurant in Mumbai, described her holiday with her daughter Imara Khan as the most “liberating” experience of her life. No prizes for guessing her holiday location – Japan. Avantika, who has appeared in cameo roles in Bollywood films such as Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, shared a montage video of the trip. The holiday involved the mother and daughter enjoying the choicest of foods, interacting with some animals [snakes included]and embracing the rich, local culture.
In the caption, Avantika Malik wrote, “Part 1- Tokyo. My ‘in rehab for codependency' a** was so so anxious and nervous to embark on a solo mother-daughter trip for the first time ever. Legit almost threw up a few times before leaving and en route out of sheer fear. Solo travel being high up on my bucket list I knew that this was a logical first step aside from the incredible bonding experience it would be for the two of us. Also having seen just how fleeting life can be I decided to not wait to do the things I really wanted to. Have to have the courage to do them yourself because friends, fam have their own lives to tend to and may not always be able to make time for the things you really want.”
Explaining why she chose Japan as her location for a holiday with her daughter, Avantika said, “I chose Japan because Buddhism (duh) and Mizu and beauty and safety. Had been dying to go for a while now. And am so glad I did. Only gratitude to the universe and the best trip planners ever. I can put up my itinerary in case anyone is interested.”
Sharing her experience, Avantika added, “For now here are some snippets of the most liberating trip of my life. Not to mention the invaluable time spent with my little mini-me. My soul was at peace after this. All I can say is just have the courage to do the things you really want while you can. You will never regret it. In fact, it will free you in ways you could only imagine. #justthetwoofus.”

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik got married in 2011. They welcomed Imara in 2014. The couple reportedly separated in 2019 but have not spoken about their marriage in public. Imran Khan was last seen in the 2015 film Katti Batti.
