The trailer of Dasvi released on Wednesday and it is gripping in every sense. The teaser showcases the story of a corrupt Chief Minister named Ganga Ram Chaudhary (played by Abhishek Bachchan), who is sent to judicial custody. A man who is used to powerplay, finds himself lost in the land of alphabets. During his stay in the jail, he meets a tough cop (played by Yami Gautam), who pushes him and challenges him to fulfill his long lost dream of completing his Class 10th exam. His struggles to keep up with the syllabus while being locked up in a jail make for an interesting watch. Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan's wife in the film (played by Nimrat Kaur) has to take over the CM's chair and once she does, she is anything but willing to let go of it.
The description of the film's trailer on YouTube read, "From counting votes to counting the days left for his 10th grade exams. Will Gangaram pass with flying colours?"

Ahead of the trailer's release, Abhishek Bachchan shared an extensive note on what the film means to him. AN excerpt from his post read, "I have always been very reticent to speak about my films, border-line apologetic about my work. People call it humility or lack of confidence in what I have made. I want to change that. I want to be unapologetic about this film. We have worked tremendously hard and I believe deeply that we've made a good film. A film worth watching with your family and friends. I've always been told, "let the work speak for itself". I am sure Dasvi will. But, I too, want to manifest the positivity around this film."
