Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers is one of the most prominent filmmakers in Tollywood. At an event on Friday, he suggested that Telugu filmmakers are yet to acquire the execution abilities of Mollywood filmmakers. Speaking at the event, the producer of films like 'Rangasthalam' and 'Pushpa' said that Mollywood filmmakers are so efficient that what takes Rs 50 Cr for Telugu filmmakers would be completed at the cost of Rs 25 Cr by a Malayalam filmmaker.
This is a welcome statement from him. Telugu filmmakers are notorious for not having a complete idea of what it takes to execute big-scale projects. That's why we see repeat postponements of movies, terrible cost overruns and worse. Almost all pan-Indian movies get repeatedly postponed, frustrating the producer, the audience and trade circles.
