How the Samantha-Naga Chaitanya rumour became all-India fake news...

Akkineni Nagarjuna doesn't usually refute gossip but he did it on Thursday. Many media outlets, including national ones, had reported that Samantha was the first to file for divorce and Naga Chaitanya agreed. Usually, fake news items don't quote any celeb. They just quote "sources". But this particular fake news quoted Nagarjuna as saying that Samantha had filed for divorce.

This is what angered Nagarjuna the most. The creator of the fake news literally used quotation marks and attributed imaginary words to Nagarjuna. Even national media outlets believed it to be true. Had the original creator of fake news not quoted Nagarjuna, nobody would have taken the gossip item seriously.

Within 24 hours, the fake news attained an all-India status. Nag felt that it was getting out of hand and therefore he issued a clarification, describing it as absolute nonsense.
