Critics complain about 'Mark Antony', call it loud and mindless

'Mark Antony', starring Vishal and SJ Suryah in dual roles, was released in theatres on Friday (September 15). The Telugu version opened to a lukewarm response in theaters.

A section of film critics have panned the sci-fi gangster comedy as illogical. "Barring SJ Suryah's delightful presence, this Vishal-starrer ends up as an unnecessarily loud and mindless film that is not serious," wrote The Hindu. In its review, India Today opined that the film's story lacks logical consistency. "The rules and functions (pertaining to the time-travel telephone that drives the story forward) are so convenient that they change according to the screenplay," the review stated.

Film Companion said that the pan-India flick just doesn't know when to stop. "This film is a classic example of a misfire due to excesses," the review further critiqued. TNIE spoke of the film's ridiculously noisy score. "Everything in the film is an excuse for the background score to try to attack your hearing," the review added. The daily gave 'Mark Antony' a 2-star rating.

It appears that 'Mark Antony' will fail to make a mark at the Telugu box-office.
