Fahadh Faasil, who will be seen as Allu Arjun's antagonist in 'Pushpa 2' later this year, is basking in the success of his latest Mollywood outing, 'Aavesham'. The action comedy drama has been lavished with praises by film critics.

Most of the reviews are positive, with India Today giving a high 3.5 stars. Other reviews are equally flattering. "From the outset, 'Aavesham' establishes its tone effectively, providing ample humour while delving into the lives of new college students. Unlike typical college films wherein the makers go overboard to show gang wars, director Jithu Madhavan focuses only on the essential elements," wrote Indian Express.

"Thanks to a group of wonderful new actors, a solid soundtrack by Sushin Shyam and the Fahadh Faasil-Sajin Gopu duo that make sure you leave the theatre on a high," wrote Film Companion in its largely positive review.

"The film never really rises above a one-line synopsis. Some of the scenes go on for too long and take the gag too far. The plot seems static, especially in the second half when the countdown to the exams begins," The News Minute opined in its only critical segment. "Well, it is that kind of film, which revels in its loudness and quirkiness and leaves little space for quiet introspection and meaningful connections," wrote The Hindu.
