Getting two look alike people under the same roof is the formula of laughter in Bollywood, that’s existing for over 5 decades now. And with some variations here and there, the formula has more often than not succeeded. Over the last 10 years, one filmmaker, who has been trying to spin a double role comedy with a top superstar is Anees Bazmee, however, for some reason, the projects never materialised. It’s a known fact that the filmmaker has locked the script of No Entry 2, which features the three principal characters – Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan – in a double role.

According to sources, it’s among the funniest scripts of Anees Bazmee with confusion at another level, however, is not taking off due to the not so good relationship of the protagonist, Salman and Boney Kapoor. When the film was not materialising, Bazmee at one point of time thought of revamping No Entry 2 with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead as a fresh subject. The filmmaker even had a meeting fixed with Shah Rukh in London while shooting for Pagalpanti, but when SRK got to know that the script is same as what was narrated to Salman at one point of time, he decided to take a back seat.

Well, these aren’t the only two actors with whom Bazmee’s double role comedy didn’t materialise. Around 2015, the filmmaker had narrated one double hero comedy to him as well, but things didn’t shape up as well as expected. The industry insiders say that the script in question was Mubarakan, which Anees Bazmee eventually made with Arjun Kapoor. Bazmee’s attempt of a double hero comedy didn’t stop here. The filmmaker even had multiple meetings with Hrithik Roshan for a twisted tale of two identical characters, but, as expected, the two could never really align to each other’s style of working.
