'Mangalavaaram' is slated to hit the cinemas on a grand scale on November 17. Director Ajay Bhupathi of 'RX 100' fame has wielded the megaphone.

Speaking at the film's pre-release event on Saturday, the filmmaker profusely thanked Allu Arjun for gracing the event as the chief guest. "I narrated the story of this movie to Allu Arjun garu about 1.5 years ago. At that time, I promised him that I would make 'Mangalavaaram' in such a manner that he would surely say 'Sabaash'," the director said.

He further said, "This is a film without a hero. Nevertheless, this film will give you goosebumps. The level of 'poonakalu' in the theatre will make you stand up from your seats and cheer the proceedings. This is an extraordinary film with 'Kantara' fame Aaneesh Loknath's BGM being mind-blowing."

Praising the movie's technical finesse, the director added, "I urge the audience not to give spoilers while giving their verdict to their friends. There are some characters whose identity is best learned without prior knowledge. This is a proper pan-Indian release. This is a technician's movie. This is a character-based movie. Producer Swathi Gunapati garu is a classy person. Whereas I am a mass director. When she loved the story, I was thrilled."

'Mangalavaaram', Bhupathi said, touches upon a complicated plot point. "My hands shivered when I started writing the story. I took it as a challenge to make a subject that has never been attempted on the Indian screen. We shot the movie for 100 working days. The budget went up to ensure a high-quality film," he said.
