Just a week after Chak De! India actor Chitrashi Rawat's wedding, Tanya Abrol, who played the role of Balbir Kaur in the film got married and her Chak De! India squad obviously attended the wedding. Shilpa Shukla, Vidya Malavade, Shubhi Mehta, Chitrashi Rawat, and Seema Azmi, attended the wedding. We got glimpses from the wedding from Vidya Malavade's Instagram stories. Meanwhile, Sharing picture with her husband Aashish Verma, Tanya Abrol wrote: "Presenting Mr and Mrs." Tanya's Chak De! India co-star Chitrashi Rawat commented on the post: "Oye hoye."

The film starred Vidya Malavade, Sagarika Ghatge, Shilpa Shukla, Tanya Abrol, Chitrashi Rawat, Shubhi Mehta, Anaitha Nair, Arya Menon, Kimi Laldawla, Masochon Zimik, Sandia Furtado, Nichola Sequeira, Kimberly Miranda, Seema Azmi, Raynia Mascerhanas and Nisha Nair as members of the women's hockey team.
Directed by Shimit Amin, Chak De! India won the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. It is considered to be one of the most iconic sports films of Bollywood. The film was a box office success and was equally adept at impressing the critics.
