New Delhi:

Tere Naam actor Bhumika Chawla, who was occupied with the promotional duties of her film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, spoke to RJ Siddharth Kannan about the films that she was supposed to be a part of but was replaced. She revealed that she had signed Jab We Met and Munna Bhai MBBS and was replaced in both the projects that went on to be massive hits. During the interaction, the actress also revealed that she did a screen test for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani (which was conceptualised earlier but made much later with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in 2015). The actress said, "This was a lot of years ago but then over the years, things changed. My screen test happened soon after Tere Naam. I had done a photo shoot with sir in his style. My saree caught fire because ghee and oil spilled on my saree I was holding the diyas in his style and it fell, and I was wearing a silk saree. I remember that happened."

Bhumika Chawla, who made her Bollywood debut with late Satish Kaushik's 2003 hit Tere Naam, opposite Salman Khan, said during the interview, "I got many offers. I've always been selective and choosy about what I do. I had signed a big film after it, that unfortunately the production changed, then hero changed, the film title changed. Then the heroine was changed too. But if I would have done that it would have been different."

Bhumika Chawla recently starred in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, featuring her Tere Naam co-star Salman Khan in the lead role. The film released last week.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is best-known for directing iconic films like Khamoshi: The Musical, Black, Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Guzaarish, among others. His next project is the Netflix series Heeramandi, starring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Shaikh.
