Defamation suit against Chiranjeevi: Mansoor to pay fine

Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan has been in the news ever since he made obnoxious remarks about his wish to do a rape scene with Trisha Krishnan in 'Leo'. On December 8, he filed a defamation suit against Megastar Chiranjeevi and Khusbhu Sundar for condemning him for making the comments. Mansoor approached a court in Madras, saying that Chiru should be made to pay him Rs 100 Cr along with Khusbhu and Trisha for "defaming" him.

The news is that the court has admonished Mansoor, saying that he resorted to a publicity stunt. The court dismissed the suit and asked him to pay a penalty of Rs 1 lakh.

Chiru had only condemned Mansoor's mindset of wanting to normalize rape culture by openly talking about itching to do a rape scene. It was a well-worded statement with no element of defamation. The 'Waltair Veerayya' actor opposed Mansoor on moral and ethical grounds. Mansoor was bound to lose the case.
