Tamannaah Bhatia is all set to enthral audiences in a brand new avatar in her next film. The actress will be collaborating with director Madhur Bhandarkar for his upcoming film Babli Bouncer, a post by Tamannaah Bhatia revealed on Friday. In the image shared, Tamannaah is dressed in a rustic look in a kurta, jacket and her hair tied in a messy bun. She has just a nose ring and choker for accessories, with the look being a far cry from her recent glamorous roles. In the picture, both Tamannaah Bhatia and Madhur Bhandarkar are holding a clapboard announcing the name of the film on the first day of the shoot.
Tamannaah Bhatia has penned a warm note about her role in the movie. She wrote in the caption, “Ghana intezaar kiya hai iss din ka. Jab se Madhur Bhandarkar ne Babli Bouncer ke bare mein bataya, mein toh Babli hi banngi. Aaj se shoot shuru [I have been waiting with bated breath for this day. Since Madhur Bhandarkar told me about Babli Bouncer, I was sure only I would be Babli. The shoot begins today].”
In the post, Tamannaah Bhatia also tagged Fox Star Studios and Junglee Pictures, who are co-producing the film.
Madhur Bhandarkar has also shared a picture of the clapboard denoting the Muhurat shot of the film. He wrote, “My 15th film. One more unique story to be told. Welcome to the unseen world of Bouncers. A funny, heartfelt, hilarious tale. Meet Tamannaah Bhatia speaks in a never seen before avatar as Babli Bouncer.”
Madhur Bhandarkar is known for his gritty films that feature strong female protagonists. Many of his celebrated works such as Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion and Heroine, among others, have all had powerful female characters. While Chandi Bar went on to win the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues, Page 3 bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. For the director's Fashion, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut won the National Film Award for Best Actress and National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress, respectively. Similarly, Tabu won the National Award for Best Actress for Chandni Bar.
Meanwhile, Tamannaah Bhatia is a certified superstar with several hits to her credit in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. She is known for her work in movies like Paiyaa, Veeram,100% Love, Racha, the Baahubali franchise, Entertainment, among others. She has also appeared in the web series November Story.
