Kartik Aaryan recently opened up about his relationship status in public. The actor said that he has been single for the past one year. Kartik's statement came after Karan Johar confirmed Sara Ali Khan's relationship with him in his chat show Koffee With Karan Season 7. Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan dated each other during the shoot of Imtiaz Ali's film Love Aaj Kal 2. However, they broke up just before the film's release for reasons best known to them.
In an interview with Film Companion, the actor shared that he has been single for over "1.25 years." He said, "Mai pichle sava saal se single hoon, baaki mujhe kuch nahi pataa. (I have been single for the past 1.25 years, I don't know anything else)." When asked that "1.25 years" was a specific timeline, the actor blushed and changed his statement to, "I have been single for the past 1 year. I am not reducing the time period slowly... it just was not precise."
To make the audience believe in him, Kartik added that the last dial in his phone is his mother.
Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan's Love Aaj Kal 2 was released on February 14, 2020.
On the work front, Kartik Aaryan is shooting for the official Hindi remake of the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, also starring Kriti Sanon. Kartik will also be seen in films like Freddy, starring Alaya F and Satya Prem Ki Katha with his Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 co-star Kiara Advani.
