Last week, Shilpa Shetty’s businessman husband Raj Kundra was arrested for his alleged connection with adult film racket, and it is being said that he is the key conspirator in the case. Reportedly, Kundra had filed a plea challenging the police custody. Bombay High Court heard the matter today, and has sent Raj to 14 day judicial custody. “Maharashtra: A court in Mumbai sends actor Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe to judicial custody for 14 days in the pornography racket case,” read a tweet on ANI’s official Twitter handle.

When Pinkvilla reached out to Kundra’s lawyer Subhash Jadhav to know about their next step, here’s what he had to say. “We have filed a bail application before the Magistrate Court. The hearing for the same is tomorrow,” informs Advocate Jadhav. Reportedly, Jadhav had earlier called Kundra’s arrest as ‘illegal’. “Raj Kundra’s arrest is illegal. There is not a single video which can be called pornographic. A 4000 page charge sheet has been filed but the police were not even able to point out any sexually explicit act in the video which demonstrated illegality under section 67a. Rest of the section applied are bailable. The Supreme Court had earlier released Munawar Farooqui on the same grounds,” he had said.

Raj and Shilpa have been in the news for the last many days, and the couple’s Juhu bungalow had also been raided by the Crime Branch team on July 23, 2021 for further investigations. Reportedly, Shilpa and Raj even had an argument on that day. The Free Press Journal had reported that Shilpa was shaken and upset as she recorded her statement, which went on for almost 2 hours. The actress had apparently denied her involvement in the case, informing that she was not aware of the exact content on the app in question.
